Participating in committees is a great opportunity to get diverse voices and perspectives to bring forward new solutions, offer unique opportunties and plan programs and events beneficial to members of the Washington County Board of REALTORS®. Committee work can also be great for leadership development, offers community engagement opportunities and enhances relationships with other industry professionals. AFFILIATE
2026 Chairman:
Chris Bengtzen, Safari Hospitality
Created to provide networking opportunities between the Association members and its Affiliate members. Affiliated businesses provide services beneficial to the businesses of our REALTOR® members. The committee may be comprised of both REALTOR® members and Affiliate members.

COMMUNITY RELATIONS
2026 Chairman:
Shawnah Maitoza, Summit Sotheby’s St. George
Involving the Washington County Board of REALTORS® in community activities which enhance the image of the REALTOR® and to improve the quality of life in the communities encompassed by the Board jurisdiction. This is accomplished by organizing human or fundraising efforts to benefit local organizations.

EDUCATION
2026 Chairman:
Christina Childs, Red Rock Real Estate
Promotes real estate education and a high level of professionalism in the industry. Responsible for planning and conducting Board sponsored education programs, giving REALTORS® opportunities to gain state required Continuing Education credit for their license and to further their professional education.

Created to protect and promote the interests of real estate property before local legislative bodies, both city and county, and keep Washington County Board of REALTORS® members informed and involved in legislation affecting private property, the real estate industry and their businesses.

GRIEVANCE
2026 Chairman:
Chantel Markel, Summit Sotheby’s St. George
Reviews ethics complaints to determine whether the allegations, if taken as true, warrant a hearing under the Code of Ethics. The committee serves as a screening body to ensure only potentially valid complaints proceed to a full, due process hearing. COMMITTEE ASSIGNMENT IS BY APPOINTMENT ONLY.

HOME TOUR
2026 Chairman:
Lise Sybrowsky, BHHS Utah Properties SG
A weekly program giving Washington County Board of REALTORS® an opportunity to quickly preview homes new to the market, providing REALTORS® unique & valuable insight into the local market. In addition to the tour, a meeting is held allowing REALTORS® to promote their listings and address needs for their clients.

Created to promote membership growth and retention in the Washington County Board of REALTORS®, as well as orient new members to the privileges and obligations of being a member of a REALTORS® Association. Works to recognize outstanding members and encourages participation within our Association.

MULTIPLE LISTING SERVICE (MLS)
2026 Chairman:
Britt Thogersen, Real Broker LLC
Oversees the rules, policies, and features of the MLS to ensure data accuracy, fairness, and compliance with MLS regulations. Recommends rule changes, system enhancements, and works to protect the integrity of the data contained within. COMMITTEE ASSIGNMENT IS BY APPOINTMENT ONLY.

Formed with the purpose of leveraging the knowledge and experience of the most recent past presidents, and chaired by the past president following their term on the executive committee. This committee is to assist in facilitating effective leadership, act in an advisory role when asked and take special assignments from the Board of Directors as needed.
PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS

Conducts hearings on ethics complaints and arbitration requests to determine whether the Code of Ethics or contractual obligations have been violated. Serves as the decision-making body, ensuring due process and applying REALTOR® standards fairly. COMMITTEE ASSIGNMENT IS BY APPOINTMENT ONLY.

Create ongoing consumer campaigns which actively differentiate the REALTOR® brand and share with consumers the value REALTORS® bring to the real estate transaction. Identify REALTORS® as the real estate experts in the local communities that they serve through print, social media and other advertising avenues.

RPAC Fundraising
2026 Chairman:
Melodee Finlinson, KW Ascend Keller Williams
Created to raise RPAC funds. The purpose of RPAC is clear: voluntary contributions made by REALTORS® are used to help elect candidates who understand and support their interests. These are not members’ dues; this is money given freely by REALTORS® in recognition of the importance of the political process.
