The Trusted REALTOR® Brand

The term REALTOR® is a registered collective membership mark that identifies a real estate professional who is a member of the National Association of REALTORS® and subscribes to its strict code of ethics.

Using a REALTOR® is simply a wise choice. Only members of the National Association of REALTORS® are properly titled REALTORS. These agents are expected to maintain a higher level of knowledge and ethical behaviors. Most second-time home buyers say they would use the same REALTOR® again.

The National Association of REALTORS® was founded as the National Association of Real Estate Exchanges on May 12, 1908, in Chicago. With 120 founding members, 19 Boards, and one state association, the National Association of Real Estate Exchanges’ objective was “to unite the real estate men [and women] of America for the purpose of effectively exerting a combined influence upon matters affecting real estate interests.”

Consumer campaigns promote the REALTOR® brand, position you as a trusted real estate expert, and educate the public about the value REALTORS® bring to every transaction.

Beyond what buyers may see on public websites, the MLS can provide REALTORS® with important information about showing availability, property details, agent contacts, and listing updates. This allows your REALTOR® to search efficiently, stay on top of new opportunities, coordinate showings, and help you navigate the buying process.

The MLS brings together all the most salient information. The REALTOR® brings the expertise to help buyers and sellers achieve their objectives.
