Candidates for 2025 President-Elect…

Jodi White Summit Sotheby’s International SG

I am honored and humbled that my peers have nominated me for the position of president-elect to the WCBR. I started my real estate career at Coldwell Banker in 2003 and moved over to Summit Sotheby’s in January 2020. Their professional and exceptional in-house marketing team support behind their agents is what drew me to Sotheby’s International Realty. Before I got my real estate license, I worked as a Paralegal in Salt Lake City for some patent attorneys, which taught me how important paying attention to details matter, especially in assisting clients with the purchase or sale of real estate. I believe in continuing to educate ourselves in this business and a few of the designations I have earned are the Accredited Buyer’s Representative (ABR), Graduate Realtor Institute (GRI), e-Pro, Resort & Second Home Property Specialist (RSPS). I have also served in various positions on our board, as the President of Women’s Council of Realtors, St. George Chapter, Governor of Women’s Council of Realtor, Utah State Chapter, and served on various committees within the board and as a WCBR Board of Director in 2006 – 2008 and 2021-2023

One of my favorite quotes by Teddy Roosevelt is “Far and away the best prize that life has to offer is the chance to work hard at work worth doing.” It speaks to finding value and satisfaction in what you do and investing time and effort in something that matters. In our businesses, there are many roles and jobs we do that offer this. Many may not think of real estate as a “soulful occupation”, but when we help someone sell or buy a home, we are helping them with a life step. Think about helping a family looking for a home with the right floorpan to care for a ill family member, a woman recently widowed, needing to find a home where she and her children can live close to their school, a young family expanding their family and needing more bedrooms and a yard to play in. Our homes are not just the places where we sleep and store our things, but the places where we experience the landmarks of our lives, birthdays, weddings, baby’s first steps, empty rooms of kids gone to college, taking care aging parents, new pets, where we become better (or worse) cooks, grow our own vegetables, grow our businesses, exercise, relax and dream. Our own homes are a reflection of who we are and where we live. From the paint colors to the furniture, from the artwork to the plates. It’s an expression of your life and all the things that make you and your family unique, and we get to be part of the process. When you look at selling real estate from this perspective, it is definitely work worth doing.

I specialize in Resort and Luxury Properties, specifically golf course properties, and love the philosophy that Luxury is not a price point. It is amazing that the St. George area has 13 golf courses, with many of them situated in golf course communities. Golf brought me and my husband together in St. George. He was in the golf business and became my swing coach and helped me get my golf game down to a single digit handicap. When I am not selling real estate, I like spending time on the golf course with friends and clients. In my opinion, golf courses are some of the most beautiful real estate, especially in Southern Utah. My hobbies outside of serving my clients are golfing, knitting, photography, and traveling, especially with friends to play golf.

Candidates for Director… (2 positions available)

Kasey Verdugo Summit Sotheby’s International SG

Kasey Verdugo is an experienced Real Estate Professional based in St. George, Utah with Summit Sotheby’s International Realty. Although born in Utah’s Salt Lake metropolitan area in the city of Sandy, Kasey spent her formative years growing up in Wyoming. Because her family owned a chain of grocery stores, Kasey grew up working in the customer service industry, developing a strong work ethic and a genuine desire to assist and serve others – a trait that has served her well throughout her real estate career.

A driven individual since childhood, Kasey sets high goals and aims for success in whatever she does. During high school, she enrolled in advanced college-level courses in order to save time and get ahead in her schooling. After graduating, Kasey moved to Southern Utah’s St. George area where she attended Dixie State University and received her BA in Biology and Psychology. During college, she worked in several youth treatment facilities where she enjoyed hands-on experience with many different types of personalities, learning how to communicate effectively and interact with each.

Kasey dove into the world of real estate in 2008, starting a family business flipping homes with her sister in California. Roughly a year after obtaining her real estate license, Kasey joined a team as a buyer’s agent and worked hard to establish herself and grow her own business. Her hard work paid off, and in 2019 Kasey took her career to an individual status and has seen nothing but growth and success since.

Kasey joined Summit Sotheby’s International Realty in December 2021 after being drawn to their professional in-house marketing services, keen attention to detail, and ability to give both clients and consumer the best possible luxury experience throughout the real estate transaction. Kasey knew the global reach of the Sotheby’s Realty brand would prove incredibly valuable, ensuring the properties she represents are seen both locally as well as internationally to qualified buyers around the world.

A local expert in her field, Kasey knows that buying and selling real estate is one of the biggest investments that most people will make in their lives, and that the process can be overwhelming and oftentimes emotional. She is open and honest, and works hard because she loves collaborating to accomplish shared mutual goals. Kasey guides and supports her clients from start- to-finish, handling details and ensuring that the real estate process is a smooth and relaxed one. Her excellent reputation with both clients and other agents speaks for itself; Kasey is proud to run a referral-based business. Her real estate goals are all about growth and expansion in Southern Utah’s luxury real estate market.

Kasey is passionate about showing up and being present, and how she reflects as an example for her family, kids, clients and friends. When she’s not working hard advancing her real estate business, Kasey is spending time with her husband and children. She is a mom to three boys and loves taking time to golf with her husband. Kasey is looking forward to learning and growing in all aspects of her life  and can’t wait to share her passion for real estate with her clients and family.

Tammy Brinkerhoff Utah Luxury Homes

Having been involved in Real Estate in Washington County for over the past 20+ years, it’s been awesome getting to know you all at some point along the journey! Our board is full of dynamic people (including a staff that is amazing), and I love how our board encourages us to develop great working relationships and opportunities to rub shoulders and learn from each other. When one is successful, it raises the tide for all of us. I’ve learned a lot and enjoyed serving on the Programs and Socials committee and Education committee this year. I’m fortunate to have a dynamic, supportive husband as a business partner and have raised 2 great kids in the business. I’ve had a non-profit called The Difference in Dixie, where we make up the difference between the cost of rent and the amount cognitively disabled people get from their SSI so they can live in a healthy and save environment (there’s so much more to that, so ask me about it sometime). Some people collect things, I collect people. I love their stories and learning from their experiences. Thank you for the chance to serve you!
